Musical Interlude: I've always been a fan of what some music critics have dubbed, for good or ill, "Power Pop." And one band that always gets plenty of play on my stereo system is Fountains of Wayne, a New York-based band that I tripped over in a Borders about three years ago.
Last September, the band made an apperance on Late Night With Conan O'Brien, and played a cover version of song by The Kinks called, Better Things. Like anyone who's originally from New York, I've been thrown off kilter a bit since September 11th, but this song did make me feel a little better. I understand that the band is going to cut a version in the studio for a benefit album, but I still haven't seen any further details on when and where that might happen.
