Some Thoughts From Chris, The Angry Catholic: Again, my old friend from college, who recently let fly with these two gems:
If any bishop or Cardinal wants to claim Vatican citizenship in order to avoid testifying before a grand jury, or turning over evidence in a criminal investigation, fine. As long as the U.S. government strips these same Church officials of their American citizenship, and deports them to the Vatican forthwith.
Recently, the Church denied giving a Christian burial to convicted Mob boss John Gotti. That decision was right and proper. However, I'd like to know how many priests who molested children have been denied a Christian burial? I'm thinking not very many at all.
I'll keep supplying these quotes as events warrant.
