‘Mad Mike” Takes Shot At Great White North

Mike Milbury, general manager of the New York Islanders, is not known in the business as someone to mince words. During an arbitration case a few seasons ago, Milbury is famous for driving former Islanders goalie Tommy Salo to tears while cutting down on his ability. But today what's got "Mad Mike's" goat are the rumors coming out of Canada that the Islanders are about to make a trade for Boston Bruins unsigned restricted free agent Kyle McLaren:

"This rush to scoop is silly," Islanders general manager Mike Milbury said yesterday, adding that the Canadian outlets regularly toss trade rumors because "there is nothing else to do in Canada."

Please note that Milbury is a graduate of Boston College and an American citizen.

UPDATE: My bad, Milbury, though he is an American, graduated from Colgate, not Boston College. Boston College was where Milbury accepted the head coaching position, and then resigned without ever coaching a game. Thanks to Isleschick for pointing out my mistake.
