So Much For Anonymity. . .

From CNN/Money:

A Chicago Cubs fan reaching for a foul ball, an action blamed by some for keeping the team out of the World Series, has already inspired plans for a movie, according to a published report.

Trade publication Daily Variety reports that Revolution Studios has accepted a pitch for a movie tentatively titled "Fan Interference." The movie is expected to star TV sitcom star Kevin James of the CBS show "King of Queens." Variety said it would tell the story of a fan who screws up an easy out, and then has to deal with the ramifications.

Why no link to the story? Because it names the fan from the Cubs game, and we've already decided that we won't be printing it anytime soon. Please note, the story doesn't say anything about the fan being involved in the production in any way shape or form.

kudos to you for not mentioning the guy’s name

too bad it’s every where else though

    people are really retarded sometimes

  2. Didn’t he–The Fan–already go public? I thought he released a statement and signed his name underneath.

I believe he did go public; also, his name has appeared front and center in plenty of newspapers and other media outlets. Your intentions are good, Eric, in not wanting to expose this guy to potential harm, but I think the cat is already out of the bag. The initial parallels to the Kobe Bryant accuser don’t really apply here anymore; I’m not sure the guy is really in any danger at this point.
