Newsday is reporting that as part of the A-Rod for Ramirez deal, the Red Sox and the White Sox have provisionally agreed to a deal swapping Nomar Garciaparra for White Sox outfielfer Maglio Ordonez. In addition, the Red Sox would also include set-up reliever Scott Williamson, while the White Sox would add some unnamed minor league pitching prospects.
One important point made by a fan on sports radio this morning: if the Red Sox pull off this deal, what in the world is George Steinbrenner going to do to try to top it?

He will offer Vlad $20 million a year. Who else is out there? He’ll try to sign them too.
Wonder if the White Sox would take Kim instead of Williamson.
