Clarett Makes A Plea

Maurice Clarett, late of Ohio State, came to a plea agreement with authorities over filing a false police report earlier this year concerning the value of items contained in a car he borrowed that was later stolen.

Here's what Franklin County Municipal Court Judge, and Ohio State alumni, Mark S. Froehlich had to say to Clarett in court today:

Froehlich told Clarett he hoped the experience would make him a better person.

"You are in fact a role model," he said. "Many people in this community look up to you. Don't let them down, but most importantly don't let yourself down. Try to give back to a community that has given so much to you."

In other words, get your ungrateful butt back to Ohio State where they can get busy running you into the ground for another two seasons in exchange for free tuition and board. Forget about getting paid in exchange for your talent, like everybody else in this world, and just shut up and play for the Scarlet and Grey.

If you're having trouble keeping track of what's gone on in this case (and at this point, I know I have), here's a handy timeline from the Miami Herald. I know they say that Clarett is still a student at Ohio State, but can anybody really say that for sure?
