Here's the (in)famous Monday Night Football teaser starring Terrell Owens and Nicollette Sheridan. Enjoy.
After watching the whole thing for the first time (I'd only seen a clip without the sound on PTI), I'm having a hard time seeing what all the fuss was about. It's clearly satiric, and actually pretty funny.
Be sure to check the Nielsen ratings on Monday morning. I'm guessing next Sunday's episode of Desperate Housewives will be one of the highest rated programs of the year.

Please! Sex sells and many americans are horn dogs. That is offensive? What has this country come to, is the majority really that high strung?
This is not HBO, it is network TV. You would think that after “values” allegedly played a role in the last election, people would start to “get it.” I’ll throw in that I am a “Blue” Stater and while I am not a prude, I do have young kids and have been forced to become cognizant of all this stuff. The fact is I should be able to put sports on my TV with my children in the room without having to worry about explaining what is going on in a networked produced “teaser” or half-time show. Granted, there may be issues with language (see ND-Pitt post-game) and violence and with the subject matter of certain commercials during a game. However, I can switch the channel when the game goes to a commercial break. Nonetheless, I can see how this particular “bit” would have caught people from complete surprise.
I am not saying bring back Up With People, just that the people in charge start using some common sense and, while they are at it, stop wasting time with stuff like, “You’ve Been Sacked,” and that stupid word game they have the athletes play on SportsCenter.
It’s no small wonder why the rest of the world thinks you Americans are such prudes.
This commercial seemed pretty tame to me, and this is just generating more free publicity for this Desperate Housewives TV Show (I’ve never seen it, but I may take a look). ESPN Page 2 had an article about the art of apologies…
The best thing for those worried about their children to do is not to watch the boring product the NFL is selling these days. That way the poor kids don’t get exposed to Nicolette Sheridan in a towel *or* lousy football.
I was offended slightly by the promo, but for the same reason I’m offended by “You’ve Been Sacked!”… it was pretty damned stupid and unfunny. The punch line, of the other two housewives changing the channel, was pretty good, but the actual skit? Awful.
I did think it was funny that a promo for a show (Desparate Housewives) dissed the audience and content of the show.
