C’mon guys, you gotta give Phil his due for one helluva year. He finished in the top ten in all four majors with a stroke average under 70, which Vijay, who was over the rainbow this year, Goosen, Els or Tiger were unable to match (altho Ernie also finished top 10 in all four majors). The double bogey at the 17th at Shinnecock was heart-breaking and to watch his charge at Royal Troon after a first round 73 to end up one stroke short off Els and Hamilton, oh man, it was a beautiful thing to see.
