I couldn’t agree more. The Wire is maybe the finest television program I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s rich and complicated and novelistic. It’s about power games, and it’s never obvious. It’s rewarding, never unfairly obscure or annoying or quirky. I’ve never seen a show anything like it. It’s almost too good for television.
Yes, Season 2 is the best of the three. And not just because of Beatrice.
