There's a reason why my Dad dressed me up as a Boston Bruin the first time I hit the ice. And that reason was named Bobby Orr.

I was sitting in the end balcony at Boston Garden on that steamy 90 degree afternoon when Orr made hockey photo journalism history. What is often overlooked is how hard the down 3 games to none St. Louis Blues played to match the overpowering offense prowess of the Bruins. Glen Hall was distraught after the o/t goal was scored. Orr had a terrific on ice rapport with Derek Sanderson and always seemed to be in a position to accept a pass from him to generate a scoring opportunity. Orr had been hailed as the future savior of the Bruins since he was 14 years old and did he ever deliver! A wonderfully gifted player who revolutionized his position.
