With the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, the Office of Public Health Emergency Preparedness (OPHEP) is seeking volunteers to assist them in meeting the needs of hurricane victims over the holiday weekend. Volunteers would be answering phones and coordinating responses with Government employees.Those willing to volunteer should coordinate through the OPHEP Project Leader, Wendy Levy at mobile phone number 703.463.0084 or at MITRE email address wlevy-at-mitre.org. In the event Wendy cannot be reached over a two-hour time period please contact Joe O'Neill, Healthcare Mission Area Operations Manager at mobile phone number 703.463.7397 or at MITRE email address joneill-at-mitre.org. Wendy and/or Joe will provide the detailed information on volunteer shift times and entry instructions for the Dept of HHS Hubert H. Humphrey building at 2nd and Independence, Washington, D.C.
