In response to a statement by Don Meehan on Steve Larmer's resignation from the NHLPA, Trent Klatt doesn't mince words with what he think went on behind closed doors at the union:
Does Don Meehan have inside information or knowledge that Steve Larmer and Trent Klatt don't have or visa versa? Does Don Meehan know more of what went on than Klatt or Larmer since he also represents Trevor Linden? Is it possible Don Meehan was advising Linden during CBA negotiations and helped orchestrate Ted Saskin's rise to power? We would like to know. Would you? Does the media?
I don't know about the media, but I'd like to know. If Trent would consent to an interview, I'd do it.

See, this is what bugs me about this whole drama; Klatt, Domi, Larmer, Chelios and the lot all seem to be making this a public spectacle with the website, press interviews, and open letters. I’m not saying that’s wrong at all since they obviously want to bring attention to whatever happened and is happening within the NHLPA.
I’m annoyed, however, because not one of the above mentioned has said anything (that I’ve been able to find) actually damning against Saskin or anyone else involved on the other side. We know about the vote and how it was conducted, but it seems like the rest is just innuendo, personal jabs, and emotion rehashed over and over again.
Obviously there’s more to the story, especially obvious with Larmer resigning, but when is one of these interviews or press-releases going to actually tell us what that is? If this stuff was all hush-hush pending the labor board(s) inquiry, then IMHO a nice “no comment” would be more appropriate.
(shameless plug)
My trackbacks aren’t working, but I wrote some more on the subject here.
