Thanks to reader Patrick Hancock for another winner from the Raleigh News and Observer:
The Canes needed a break, entering the game with losses in four of the past six games, including two inexplicable ones to the dreadful Washington Capitals. They also entered the game with a 5-5-2 record without Erik Cole, who broke his neck on March 4.
Mark Recchi, one of the players the Canes picked up to pick up the slack in Cole's absence, made a big play on Friday.
Recchi redirected a Tomas Kaberle slap shot for his second goal and third point in the past three games.
Tomas, of course, plays for the Maple Leafs in Toronto. Oops! It's Frantisek Kaberle who plays for Carolina.

At least Tomas and Frankie are brothers. The widely used summary from Saturday’s 5-2 Thrashers win over Carolina says Victor Kozlov scored for Atlanta. Victor plays for the Devils. Atlanta has Vyacheslav, or Slava.

In the two weeks after the Olympics every AP article on Atlanta said something along the lines of “Slava Kozlov, who had X points for Russia in the Olympics…”. Oops- that was Victor.
Also, TSN has Alex Bouret listed as a hot prospect playing in Lewiston for about four months. He got traded to Shawinigan last summer.
