Thanks to JP for pointing out this mistake from the Raleigh News and Observer that appeared in Tuesday's paper:
But [Mark Recchi, Ray Whitney and Doug Weight] were brought aboard to do more than score, something Weight showed during the second period. After Washington's Jeff Friesen fought Staal, Weight invited Friesen to fight when he returned from the penalty box, even though the two are friends.
Unfortunately, Friesen was back in Anaheim, where the Caps had traded him about a month ago. That means the paper is the latest winner of the Mark Sterne Award, joining Tom Boswell of the Washington Post in that distinguished pantheon. Congratulations!
