Sapp: Food Was Poisoned In Philly

The latest from the endlessly entertaining Warren Sapp:

Warren Sapp says his food repeatedly was tampered with when he was on road trips with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers - especially in Philadelphia.

Sapp, now an Oakland Raiders defensive tackle, now refuses to eat out on road trips.

"You get your food poisoned," said Sapp, a Buc from 1995 to 2003. "They don't want you out there on Sunday. You don't think about it. It just got crazy."

Sapp apparently goes to elaborate lengths to foil any attempts to further sully his GI tract:

During his time with Tampa Bay, Sapp even went so far as to book two hotel rooms - one under an alias - so he could order room service and not worry about his food.

Sapp, who turns 34 next month, said he requested bottles of water with the cap still on.

"You have to, though," Sapp said of being cautious. "It's either that or feel bad."
