Comcast Web Streams Of NHL Games Now Free

I've got great news for all hockey fans: Comcast will soon make its live NHL game Web streaming service available for free.

Until now, the cable company's Hockey Live service was only available to Comcast high-speed Internet customers. Apparently, that won't be the case any longer. For the complete schedule, click here.

Thank you Comcast and thank you NHL -- another great decision in a stream of great decisions regarding new media. Woo-hoo!

UPDATE: Just got a call from Comcast -- the actual streams will start sometime next week.

Even better new. Even though the Comcast web site says that Macs aren’t supported, you can get a passable stream if you install the free version of Flip4Mac (a WMP plug-in for QuickTime). (I’m a Comcast customer, and it took a few weeks into the season for me to figure this out.) The overall interface is far superior to the Yahoo interface.
