Some potentially bad news from the Caps: Olie Kolzig was forced to leave practice early today with a groin injury. I just got off the phone with Nate Ewell of the Caps, and he says Kolzig is at the doctor right now getting evaluated. Thanks to SportsTalk 980's Frank Hanrahan, host of Caps Center Ice, for the email tip.
Anyone who watches the Caps knows how critical Kolzig is to their ability to compete. Losing him for any stretch of time, no matter how small, is a huge blow. More as the story develops.
UPDATE: From Nate with the Caps:
Olie just got done with the doctor. It's a knee injury, and we expect him to be out for three weeks. No decision yet on who we will recall.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the Hershey Bears, the choices are Frederic Cassivi, Daren Machesny and Maxime Daigneault.
