After a 3-0 win over Toronto, Boston has won 5 of their last 6. A major reason for the sudden surge is the belief that "Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli won't break up the team up if the Bruins remain in contention."
"Nobody wants to see anybody get traded," Thomas said. "Every team ends up being a family. Our job is to do the best we can in the locker room. We can't control what management does."
I'm sorry, but don't you think they'd have a better shot of keeping the team together if they were not only in contention, but actually in one of the last playoff spots? If they really wanted to keep the team together and preserve the sense of family, they would have stepped up their game weeks ago, not this late in the season. While I'll be rooting for my Bruins, is it a case of too little too late?
With the surprising production of late from Brandon Bochenski, Petr Tenkrat, and Marco Sturm, the Bruins look poised to move into one of the last playoff spots. Now that they're only 5 points out of the 8th spot in the East, it will be interesting to see if they can keep moving up the playoff ladder.
