As you might imagine, I've been very busy over at FanHouse getting geared up for the start of the NHL season. This weekend proved to be particularly productive on the writing side, culminating with a trio of posts this morning concerning a study that appeared in the Orange County Register over the weekend about concussions and the NHL:
Is the NHL Ignoring a Concussion Problem?
Ten "Memorable" Hits From 2006-07
The Hit That Ended Jeff Beukeboom's Career
The one thing that was missing from the stories written by the Register's Scott M. Reid was video footage of the hits he wrote about. As you'll see from my posts, I did my best to find online footage of as many of the hits he referenced as possible.
I've also been previewing the NHL's Pacific Division. Those posts are below in my predicted order of finish:
NHL Season Preview: San Jose Sharks
NHL Season Preview: Anaheim Ducks
NHL Season Prevew: Dallas Stars
NHL Season Preview: Los Angeles Kings
NHL Season Preview: Phoenix Coyotes
Finally, please take a look at my reluctant defense of the NHL's unbalanced schedule, as well my Ice Bowl roundup post.
More later.
