Capitals Kick Off Development Camp

After what seems like an eternity since we saw the Capitals lose to the Pens in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Caps are finally back on the ice...sort of. Today marked the start of the Capitals Developmental Camp at the Kettler Capitals IcePlex. I have returned home to Massachusetts for the summer, but there are still several great writers and bloggers who are covering the week-long camp. There's already some interesting coverage from the first day. Tarik at Capitals Insider has some notes from the day, mostly concerning John Carlson. He also twittered the sessions. The Peerless Prognosticator has some thoughts and photos from the day. On Frozen Blog was also represented, and was able to ask GMGM a few questions concerning super-prospect John Carlson.

This week showcases the future of the Capitals organization, and I encourage everyone in the area to check things out. Because in a few years when some of these boys are making their first headlines, and people start asking who the heck they are, you can smile to yourself knowing that you saw it coming a long time ago.
